I Love The Christmas Season...

There's a special 'buzz' I feel during the Christmas season. I think for me it starts the minute Australian Quilt Market finishes; and I know that all my travelling is over until next year, meaning I get to do all the lovely things in my garden and my home, and with family and friends, that I never seem to have enough time to do all year! Just like getting to my Sewing Group! I had missed every get together this year so it was nice to still be invited to the Christmas Breakup:

We had such a great time (and yes, my biscotti went down a treat!) including swapping our Kris Kringle presents. Rosie was the lucky recipient of Jenny's (centre front) handmade apron:

We did also get some sewing done! I was hexagon addicted (you will find out all about this in Vignette, Issue 2!) as was my friend, Bev:

Silly me forgot to take a photo of my Kris Kringle present that I stitched up, I showed you a peek of the fabrics that I used in the last blog entry. I made a table runner and serviettes, which Jenny received. I will show you a photo from Vignette, Issue One, and you will have to imagine it in the fabrics I showed you last entry!:

Of course the thing that I love most about the Christmas Season is the HUGE cleanup/cleanout that I get to do in my studio and office. You will see my poor studio is in GREAT need of this:

There WILL be 'after' shots. I'm sure you can tell this is the 'before' shot!!! LOL

Back soon,

Leanne Beasley

P.S. Thanks to all of you who gave me hints on how to get the toffee off!! Hot water and a little elbow grease worked best!! Won't be attempting nougat again any time soon, I know when I'm beat!

Hmm is anyone ele encountering problems with thhe images on this blog loading? I'm trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it's tthe blog. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What a fun party you all had!! Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!

Leanne, I haven't had a chance to create in my sewing room enough for it too look like that yet but I know I will after we finish up our little remodeling job. I don't even want to think what it will look like when I really get busy, LOL. I can't wait to see the after pictures though! Merry Christmas! Hugs...

I wish I was in your sewing group... you all must have so much fun...

I have really enjoy reading your blog and meeting you in person. Have a great and safe Christmas...

Hey, where's my biscotti recipe????Have a great Christmas Leanne. Cheers xxx

Oh gosh - it's so nice to see someone elses "creativeness" (I couldn't possibly call it a mess!!) - my dining room looked like this until about 5pm on Sunday - we had friends for supper and I had to whisk EVERYTHING off my table in double-quick time!!

Hey, Leanne, Your workroom looks like mine!! What fun! So hexagons, um, just bought some paper pieces today....hope they are the right size. *grin* Have a wonderful Christmas, Leanne.

Hey Leanne! It must be that "Clean up the sewing room/studio" time of year, cos I had to do mine on the weekend so the daybed could be used for guests over Christmas! Until then, it had looked like all my cupboards spat their contents onto the floor ... and the chairs ... and the daybed and the ..!!! :0) You get the picture! I think us creative types just have too many ideas fighting to get out of our heads and we race from one project to the next too quickly to clean up in between. Creative Chaos is my motto! Tee! Hee! Hee! Have a very Happy Christmas!! Bear Hugs! KRIS

Hahaha.... I was going to comment on the 'after shot'! ;) I don't think I'd take that apron (that Rosie has!) off ever! It'd be my year round apron! It's awesome! Please don't tell me you're going crazy with hexagons for Vignette???? ARGH! I may have to rip my hair out now! I hope you give lots of helpful tips!
