Time for a Give Away...
October 23, 2008
I've had few new patterns out recently so it's time for a give away.
There's 'Pretty Bedside Set', the pattern that the ladies at the Spring Stitch-In at Glen Harrow Gardens received:
The pattern includes instructions for: the doily in the above photo, and an iron-on transfer for the doily, an A5 journal cover pattern, and a pretty stitchery for framing (or you could turn it into a centre block for a quilt or a cushion if you like):
These photos above were taken on my bedside table and of course that bedside table would include books. I love books and hence the next pattern, 'Library Lesson'. The pattern includes instructions for two different library bags exploring different techniques. The bag below uses raw edge applique (for all of you who have been wanting to know how to do it) and machine quilting. Quick and easy:
The second bag uses stitchery for the 'library' bit (Back Stitch outline, filled in with Back Stitch), and hand quilting for a traditional finish. The finished size of both bags is 15" x 15", or you can make them bigger or smaller.
The third new pattern, is 'Waiting For Santa', my latest Christmas Stocking Pattern:
The pattern includes instructions for making individual tags. It also includes an upper and lowercase alphabet if you'd like to use my font:
These would make lovely 'teacher presents' if you need to be making those! The pattern is written so that you can use fat quarters with very little waste.
Seeing as we have a bit of a book theme going on why not leave a comment that relates to books. You can name your favourite book, author, the book you're reading at the moment, the last book you read, the book you wish you had time to read, anything really. Leave a comment and I'll do a random draw on Tuesday the 28th of October. There's three of each pattern to giveaway.
Until then,
Leanne Beasley
I'm really enjoying the design and layout of your website. It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Superb work!

What beautiful stitcheries. I belong to a school book club and our current book is Maggie O'Farrell's The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox. As the dust cover explains it is "a stunning depiction of a life stolen and reclaimed." Although I am only half way through I would recommend it most highly. It is a beautiful frosty sunny day here in Northern England and I hope it is lovely with you.

Hi Leanne...wonderful patterns...hope I am not to late for your give away...at the moment I am reading "The Hot Flash Club Chills Out" by Nancy Thayer. Stitching and reading go hand in hand so we can just "chill" and I love doing both.

Hello Leanne
I would be most honoured to win any of your patterns....love all of them!!
The closest thing I get to reading books these days is my Country Threads Mag! BUT my daughter has just sent me a new book....can't remember the name! That is shocking!

What lovely patterns. I am a crafter and have just opened a little country shop -- reading is not in the cards right now but have promised myself beginning Jan. 1 I'll start on the many books awaiting my eyes.

I don't think I will win this competition because the last book I read was when I was at school - which was 17 years ago . . . and I only read half of it. I still don't understand how I managed to pass my English exam based on this half read novel. Give me a needle & thread any day!

I love the library tote patterns. We are regular visitors to the library but it's usually the little girls who end up coming out with books (they're 5,3 and 10 mos)so the latest thing I've read these days are the cooking instructions on pasta...no joke!

I recently read Ayelet Waldman"s:
Love and Other Impossible Pursuits. It's one of those books that after you're done reading it you think:" I wonder how they're doing" only to remember they're characters in a book !
This is my first time entering one of these give-aways, thanks for doing it ! I bought your Romancing the Road book and love it !
hugs,
Lorna

Beautiful patterns, as always, Leanne. I love the lettering you use. I'm re-reading The Secret Life of Bees before I go to see the movie, which I've been told is very faithful to the book. SuzK

If only I could sew on the train to work in the morning - but then I wouldn't read any books! My fav book is 'The Kite Runner' - also saw the movie last week. So moving and a reality check to think that my biggest worries are actually quite insignificant and I have a wonderful life x
