Quiltganza 2007
Another adventure...

The Quilter's Quarter...

The last few days have been a complete whirlwind. I seem (like most women) to have a thousand things on my 'to do list' and seem to be getting nowhere! (Not to mention having a sick 5 year old at home for a few days!) Mind whirling, the Woolworth's (supermarket) delivery man just arrived with the shopping. Another thing to do - unpack the shopping and get dinner on! AAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!Then while unpacking the shopping, answering phone calls, and marinating beef (all at the same time) this came to mind:

Sitting in a little restaurant in sunny Positano, Italy, with a San Pellegrino (mineral water) with a slice of lemon and a bunch a friends....(could this have only been a few weeks ago?).....

This then led to me inventing a new drink - The Quilter's Quarter! I decided that I needed 15 minutes to have a break with 25ml (yes okay I'm a measurer) of gin and a slice of lemon topped up with a bottle of San Pellegrino I found in the fridge.

I'll be back soon after my Quilter's Quarter....

P.S. A non-alcoholic version of this would be just as lovely - simply leave out the gin!

The Quilter's Quarter sounds good - I assume one does not attempt sewing or cutting after the Quilter's Quarter! LOL!

Hi Leanne. Heard in town today that you had a comment in my blog on april 13.th. You wondered which shop - well I know you know the shop owner - it's Siw's Quiltegarden in Trondheim. and the one to the left on this photo is Siw

Wonderful POSITANO
I like to see and to read that you know San Pellegrino and Nastro Azzurro.
The factories, where this water and this bear are produced, are near the city where I live.
Cin Cin and ciao ciao.

Although San Pellegrino is italian we used to see it a lot in restaurants when we lived in Northern France - your picture brought back some lovely memories - thank you

Poor Georgia - I hope she is feeling better and that you get even a small amount of time to put your feet up with your Quilter's Quarter. I do remember one time when both boys came down with a tummy bug within about five minutes of each other. At the time I was very thankful that (a) they were both old enough at the time to take care of the necessary actions themselves and (b) that we had two toilets. I also remember from their younger years that there is nothing that could propel you out of a nice, warm, comfortable bed at 3am than a child standing over you saying "Mummy, I think I'm going to be ....".

(I am now typing with my cat sitting on my arms - he has wanted lots of cuddles ever since we arrived back from Melbourne. Spent yesterday following me everywhere.)

Back to the Quilters Quarters - I think I would substitute vodka for the gin - not much of a gin person. And I would add raspberries or blackberries.

Hoping that you can get a less stressful end to your week.

Yes I am sure all our lives are just one big whirlwind, most of us really wouldn;t have it any other way LOL. I love to sit down with a drink of San Pellegrino, but I must admit I haven't tried it with the 25mls of gin, maybe I will have to.

I thought the feeling of being a complete whirlwind was exclusively for me and all the other women in their fifty-something! I recognize it so well, another day is gone and the TO-DO-LIST is still there. The head is spinning and 24 hours in a day seem not to be enough! I can only wish you the best and give your little girl a bug-free hug from me!

That would be fine Leanne - if it wasn't 10.30 AM!!!! :o) Lucy
