A 365 Challenge Update...

The Winners are...

Congratulations to the five winners of my latest pattern, the 'Making Memories Quilt':

June_27_07035

Thankyou to everyone who left a comment, I am very touched by how many of you left your name to be in the draw. Special thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas with everyone on other ways to use this as a signature quilt. When I was writing out all the names to go in the draw there were lots of names that I hadn't seen before, so to the 'new readers' - welcome.

Could each of the five winners please email me (top left on the screen) your mailing address so I can ship your patterns to you!

I can assure you this is a cosy quilt when completed, as can my cat, Ally:

The weather up here on the mountain has been really wild today (and freezing!) with huge winds and rains(I can't believe my roof is still on) so I will be brief today (before the power goes off AGAIN!).

We've had much the same kind of weather up here - rain, rain, more rain, snow, and of course, more rain. Not that I am complaining not when we are on tank water. The day we woke up at 6am to snow was fun. We took one look outside and told the children to go back to bed as school was definitely out that day. Even if the school buses had been running (and there was no way they would have made it up onto the plateau) we wouldn't have made it down the drive which is close to a kilometre long, and in the best of weather is known locally as "the driveway from hell".

So far, even in the windiest of weather, we have not been blacked out. (Here's hoping I'm not jinxing myself). However if that does happen we are fortunate enough to have a large diesel powered generator.

Spent Wednesday making no. 2 son, Ben, a Hogwarts cloak. This term his class has been reading the second Harry Potter book, so their class party had a Hogwarts theme. Everyone came dressed up as someone from Hogwarts and one of the parents had even baked THE most amazing Hogwarts cake. Ben went along in his cloak with broomstick in tow, and with appropriate scar on forehead. He even had little round glasses to wear.

Alleycat looks sooo cosy. CAts are very good at finding the warmest, cosiest place to sleep.

Have a warm and snug weekend.

Congratulations to the winners!
Leanne, hope the weather will be better soon. Here in Cairo it's 47 degrees celcius. Far to hot for me and the other Europeans here. Luckely, tomorrow I fly back to Holland. Greetings to all of you.

Hello, I found your site over at Quilt Nut. I am a beginner at this and thought I might learn from some experts. I have dones some very simple rail fence quilts, hand quilted for my grands but now i am trying to do a Sampler.

Good luck with the weather. We get lots of wind and power outages out here too, so I know what that's like.

Congratulations to Cheryl, Trudy, Anne, Kathy and Marge, you lucky bastards! I hope the roof is still on the house Leanne! It’s raining cats and dogs here (in Holland) from time to time as well, although it’s supposed to be summertime!

Oh why wasn't it me??????!!!!
Only joking! Lots of congratulations to the winners. Hope the weather improves soon Leanne - we've got the most miserable midsummer weather ever (even for the UK!) - good sewing weather though!! Lucy
