Leanne's House update!

I feel like I'm in a bit of a cocoon at the moment with finishing off 'Romancing the Roadtrip' - my new book. I eat (takeaway/microwave), breathe and sleep (nice idea!) the book. I keep coming up with little ideas to add in and hence have spent today back and forwards at the photo developing shop ("Could you please print these in 2" x 3"?), the local antique shops ("Would you have any old postcards with good stories on the back?"), and the scrapbook shop ("Yes, six more packets of those mini paperclips please").

I am so excited that it's nearly finished and I can't wait for you all to see it. I hope that you will have as much fun with the book as I am having making it.

Back to work,

Leanne Beasley xxx

Slept on the couch last night!

Yes, I slept on the couch last night - kind of by accident. I got so involved in writing the book (how much fun can a girl have!?) that when I stopped for a cuppa at around 1am I guess I must have nodded off. Of course much more of the book would be completed too if it wasn't for this blog. For a girl who didn't even know about blogs a fortnight ago - I AM ADDICTED!

I have added in a photo album of some of the projects that you will see in 'Romancing the Roadtrip'. If you click on the photo you will get a big version of the photo, the project name, and a little story about the project. Let me know if you like this and I will add to it.

I plan to add photo albums of my current patterns as well. Would you like an album of old patterns? At Leannes's House we never delete an old pattern - they are always still available even if they are not in our current catalogue.

Back to the book,

Leanne

The new book!

Rtr_talbot_oct_06098Goodmorning everyone! Here I am again (and feeling rather proud of myself that setting up my blog worked!). I really want this to be a place where you can see what's happening at Leanne's House.

Being a quilt designer takes you on many fabulous journeys - the latest one for me is my next book, 'Romancing the Roadtrip'. I have FRANTICALLY been working on it for some time now but have a deadline of only 4 days to complete it!!!!! I will make it - watch it happen!

Here's a photo from our photoshoot on Wednesday - the weather was great (always a worry when you do a shoot 3 hours from home and have only one day to complete it!). This quilt is called 'P.S. Don't forget the Chocolate' (I will reaveal why in the book!). Back to paper and scisssors and sewing machine now!

Talk soon,

Leanne Beasley

Here I am at last!

Well here I am at last - in cyberspace! Those of you who know me, know me as just a tad traditional(okay, very traditional). I have given in (I will still hang onto those envelopes and stamps just for now)and joined you all. To be honest, I love the idea of being able to talk to you all the moment I think of something. I am also very excited about being able to talk to all my fellow stitchers all over the world. So here it is - my first blog!

May your heart make you grateful for the simple things.

Love, Leanne Beasley
